Nota cultural

Notice how many relatives show up in a single weekend, primos, tios, tias, cunhadas and avós. In Portugal the nuclear family rarely stays on its own for long. Weekend lunches that pull in cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents are a normal, expected rhythm, not a special occasion, and a house that fills up like this is considered a happy one.
