Nota cultural

The Livro de Reclamações is not a figure of speech. Every business in Portugal is legally required to keep the official red complaints book and must hand it over the moment a customer asks for it. Complaints written in it go to the regulator. Asking for it is the nuclear option of Portuguese customer service, and everyone in the room knows it.
